Martin State Forest Campground

Nice primitive campground. However, there is a trucking depot nearby that likes to have sirens running all day and night, even over the weekend. Not sure why they need to be so loud as to reach the campground. Woke up on Monday at 7 am to the sirens running, and they're still going an hour and a half later. Not DNR's fault, but just know what you're getting into!

The camp ground seems like it would be nice and secluded and looks great. Unfortunately, you will have to share your space with a giant trucking depot across the highway that runs 24 hours and sounds alarms and idles semi engines all night long. Add in the swarms of mosquitoes and the occasional ticks, even in early spring, and I will just avoid this spot from now on.

Great little campground. Appears water pipes or something were redone recently. We were the only ones there. Not sure what the sirens were????

Camped on a Monday night campground was quiet playground was nice if you have kids and the pit toilets were nice & clean. $13 a night is a few bucks higher that other places but not much and well worth it for a clean safe space to camp for the night. The Fire tower is cool but too shakey for us and could use some boards replaced.

Hidden gem. We travel the Highways so we can explore camping like this. Beautiful sites, some good hikes nearby. We stopped for one night on our way to Illinois, and were the only ones in the camp! Primitive sites however, drinking water all over camp and we are self contained so no worries.
