Maple Rock Campsite

I lived here for six months. I was planning on staying indefinitely. The low rent ($650/month) was the only good thing about this place. They had dozens and dozens of trailers here and only one small dumpster. The thing was overflowing with garbage every day and when you entered the place it was the first thing you saw. When I moved in I got the crappiest trailer they had because it was all they had. It was January and many of the windows didn't close all the way so cold winter air came in. They had to nail the windows shut from the outside. I had a neighbor whom I had several problems with who seemed to think he didn't need to answer for his actions because he'd been there a long time. The reason I left was because I was promised a much nicer trailer that was being refurbished.

This is a series of low income permanent residences and not a place to bring a tent. I've lived here the past year and a half and it's nice and quiet with cool wildlife and a very understanding landlord. The maintenance crew tends to fix most issues within 24 hours. Trailers aren't the best insulated though, and mine has a mold smell I can't seem to get rid of, but if you're broke and need a place to live, this is a good option. I have a 2 bed 1 bath for 600/mo and the lease can be either month to month or week to week. All utilities except heart and internet included. Pocono Pony sends its short bus out here, too. Not terribly handicapped accessible but I'm sure you could work something out with the landlord to make it more so.

We have lived here 3 years and it has been amazing! The owner is a fantastic guy and helps with any problems you may run into. I highly recommend.
