This place is flat and has trees easy to climb for kids. There are enough trees to set up hammocks or a movie screen. The nearest grocery store is about 20 min drive away in case you need something. Outside the campground on the Tan Oak Acc Road, there is a tree with little apples, I guess that's where the name Manzanita comes from. I've seen wild deers here.
Manzanita is the largest group campsite within Mt Madonna County Park, accommodating up to 240 people and 30 vehicles. It has several picnic tables, a BBQ pit, a large fire ring, and plenty of space for tents, as well as a huge dirt parking lot in the center. The parking lot takes up quite a bit of the site, but made for a great play area for all the kids to ride bikes in and run around.
