M22 Inn - Suttons Bay

We booked a couple of nights to get away and do some wine tasting in the area. We like staying at old motels and supporting local businesses. We arrived and our room was pretty much as expected. The room was ready an must have been just serviced because the towels were still warm. It was a basic two beds and a bathroom. The room had an smell that wasn't pleasent. We kind of got nose blind pretty quick but, still very noticable when entering the room. Both beds were pretty lopsided from bit being turned often and the pillows are way to soft. Good channel selection on the TV. Great hot water supply. AC and heater both work great. If it were not for the smell upon entering the room I would give the room a higher score. But, if you need a room close to winerys and beautiful north

Rooms were clean, and could use a minor facelift. Had a chance to speak to the owner, great guy, is planning some renovations in the winter. Not as bad as the most recent reviews state. It's in between the water and woods, bugs and sand are something that is going to happen regardless. Love it, we will absolutely be back!

DO NOT STAY HERE! Was very disappointed upon arriving to my contactless check in at M22 inn. Firstly I thought the check in was odd that our room was unlocked and our key was placed inside, meaning anyone could just get in the room. Second we were met with a musty smell throughout the room. The room had obviously not been touched for who knows how long as there were cobwebs in the corners, spiders, moths, and other crawling insects. The shower looked crummy and unclean. And everything looked like it hadn’t been updated since it was built in the 50s. We weren’t expecting much but a clean space and a rustic vibe but it turned out to be much worse. Upon contacting the Expedia team, they weren’t able to get in touch with the M22 staff until they conveniently waited till after check out to deny

I had cancelled my reservation back in August 2025. I was told by the owner he would reimburse my money. To this day he has not. I keep getting the run around. He would then no longer answer my call so I knew he was screening my calls, when I would call from another number he would then pickup. The owners are definitely scammers, he will promise you the moon and sun however does not deliver. Do not waste your time by staying here.

Large rooms, great location, and clean. Lacking hot water for showers and the toilet needs repair. The heating unit didn’t work but the owner gave us a portable heater to use. Nice walking areas for the dogs.
