Lynchburg / Blue Ridge Parkway KOA Holiday

We stayed for about 10 days at this KOA. The owners and the staff were so kind and friendly. Everything was kept very clean and landscaped. The bathrooms were the absolute best campground bathrooms that we have ever encountered. SO much so that we opted to use their shower facilities instead of our own. The whole experience was enjoyable and we will definitely be staying again when we are in the area.

If you're looking for a big resort type campground, this one probably isn't for you, but it's exactly why we enjoyed it. It's only about 40 sites, so we enjoyed the fact that there weren't golf carts running around at all hours kicking up dust and making noise like many of the bigger campgrounds these days. It is mainly wooded, since we were there in the fall, the leaves were changing color, which made for a beautiful scene. The site was gravel, it was hard to level, needed extra blocks in the front and on one side. Bathrooms in our area were pretty small, but clean. We enjoyed our stay and would return if visiting the area again. Make sure you read the cancellation requirements. This facility strictly adheres to them. If you schedule it within 7 days, there is no refund. Yes, they will keep your entire deposit. I planned a weekend trip, out of season, and then something else came up within 36 hours and it didn't matter. I would have been better off just showing up and taking what was available. I preferred KOA’s, but this business model out of season is a deal breaker. Reschedule? Maybe, but if you read those rules maybe not. Good luck, it may not be an issue for you but know that it is there.

I was booked for a one night stay for November 20 2025. Unfortunately, my wife got ill and we had to cancel our holiday travel plans. I was booked for four RV parts including this one. (3 KOA & 1 private). All but this KOA were able to accommodate the change is dates with no penalty. The Lychburg representative said they couldn't change in the 7 day window even to transfer the date. So I will have to be charged the $71 rate. The other KOA were able to do so within the 7 day period & charge me nothing. I told the representative about the others but she said there's nothing she can do. It is sad that a unexpected illness does not allow for a change of date at this RV park. Especially when i offered the date, March 28, 2026. I usually don’t stay in private campgrounds because of the too close of proximity to other campers. These sites are well spaced out. A nice trail through the woods and around the fishing pond. All folks seemed friendly, the entire property is extremely well maintained and clean. Very quiet at night. You even have a maintenance man wearing a KILT. Good location for the trail and less than an hour from Appomattox. I’d stay again if in the area
