Luray Mountain Cabins

We stayed at the Black Walnut Cottage, one of the Luray Mountain Cabins, over Memorial Day weekend. We had such an enjoyable stay. The owners thought of everything with just the right amenities. A private cozy cabin where we enjoy the morning sunrise over the mountains on the front porch and the evening sunsets on the back patio, while sitting around the firepit. The 2 person hot tub was great after a day hiking in Shenandoah National Park. Highly recommend and we hope to be back!

It's simple to book, and they send you everything you need to know about your stay 4 days prior to the visit. Very clean, modern cabin. Although we didn't spend any time in the cabin, it's nice. We had each day packed full of activities in the surrounding areas. We stayed in The White Pine loft. Read the guest book. It had us laughing!

A beautiful home, very well located for rest and relaxation with good proximity to Shenandoah National park for outdoor activities. The cabin was very well equipped, very clean and a perfect retreat.

My husband and I (and our dog!) stayed three nights in the Black Walnut Cottage and it was absolutely perfect! From booking to check out, the hosts were so responsive and organized. The cottage was so thoughtfully decorated, well stocked from kitchen appliances, to laundry detergent, to board games, and clean! It exceeded all expectations and was one of the best rentals we’ve ever stayed in! We loved sitting on the porch with our coffee and ending the day in the back playing cards by the fire or soaking in the hot tub after a long day of hiking in SNP! I also appreciated the time and thought the owners put in to providing recommendations for things to do nearby with very detailed descriptions. It was an amazing home for a weekend getaway and I couldn’t recommend it enough!

This was our fourth time in the Black Bear Lodge and we loved it as much as the others. The cabin was meticulously clean and comfy. And the view of the valley below is priceless and all so worthy staying there, day and night. (At night, the view straight out of the front bedroom bed out the front window is of the valley. A more peaceful and tranquil night view can't be had!)
