Lower Piney Creek Campground

Checked it out on a bikepacking trip. Super cool spot, but the other review talking about the road is spot on. Theres also no water source so be prepared. In decided not to stay the night but would've if I was a little more prepared. Theres also no cell phone service.

This is a lovely, remote, and private place to camp, but BEWARE the road in! It is single-track with maybe two wide spots in a 2.5 mile stretch AND is bordered by a very steep, high dropoff most of the way. I’m rugged and I found this pretty scary. I have no idea what would happen if two cars met on that road. I did it without 4WD, but I’d recommend it. Vehicles MUST have high clearance. The lower campground is deep in a canyon. I didn’t go to the upper campground because I didn’t have enough time, wanted to get out before the sun went down. It felt a little too isolated to stay alone, although my dogs loved the place.
