Lonesome Dove Campground and RV PARK, LP

This campground is peaceful and beautiful. Out of all the RV Parks we’ve stayed at the entire 2025, this has been the best. The longtime residents are a blessing to be around and interact with. Charlie the owner is quick to getting propane filled up with the propane station on site and if you want to build a fire in the pit rings he has on every site, he brings bundles of wood. He’s been the most gracious Host here at Lonesome Dove and a great bartender at the Wanderers Outpost Bar that is also on the campgrounds, that is a simple minute walk up too. If we are ever in the area for work again, this will be our go to every time!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Lonesome Dove! We have a 25ft pull behind camper that was easy to navigate for a fairly skilled CDL driver. Bathrooms were very clean as well as the campground. We enjoy getting away and just relaxing with a good book by the fire and this was the perfect place for it! It’s about a 15 minute drive to Lake Jocassee boat landing which had boat rentals to beautiful swimming holes and waterfalls! The owner Charlie was extremely communicative and welcoming! He helped us get settled in and even provided an electrical extension cord for our camper which we had forgotten! We will certainly be back very soon!

We had a wonderful time from start to finish while staying at The Lonesome Dove. The owner, Charlie, was kind and extremely helpful. This was our first RV trip so we had questions that he gladly answered and provided tips to make things easier for us. I'd recommend staying at the Dove if you want an affordable and convenient spot near Keowee and Jocassee - and just down the road from Whitewater Falls!

Quiet and serene atmosphere. The hospitality and friendliness around the campground from owner and long term residents was great. It's 10 minutes from Lake Jocasse (well worth seeing) so you don't have to deal with much state park traffic. Charlie gave us info for motocross track with some great jumps and track areas for all levels of riding. It was only a 30 min drive and an awesome experience. For a privately owned campground The Dove has the feel of a natural state park area with trees and shade, birds chirping, nice sunrise. The Dove has restrooms, propane, ice, no showers but full hookups for camper. Charlie will make you feel at home and may even guide you to some local hot spot trout fishing holes if your nice. Clean, safe and well run! Charlie is a pleasure to work with! He hauled the camper up from Florida, hooked it all up and made sure I had everything I needed. He was very kind in helping me get the heat going (I’ve never used a camper before). The other camp site occupants were also friendly and I really enjoyed my time here with the dogs! Highly recommend.
