Log Cabin Lodge & Suites

Stayed here for two nights because we were skiing at Seven Springs for the weekend. The location was perfect for us, as it was not far from the Donegal exit of the turnpike and close to Sarnellis market, as well as Thrifty ski rental and Out of the Fire Cafe. The drive to SS was only about 10 minutes. Our room was on the second floor, which we preferred, as that is the top floor and so we had an A-frame. The high ceiling made the room feel larger. The room itself was like a large cabin--all wood and cozy with an electric fireplace and plenty of space for the two of us. The room was very clean. There was a queen bed, a bunk bed, a dresser, a nice-sized open closet, a large nightstand table, tv, large fridge, microwave, spacious bathroom, and a desk area with a mirror. My fiancé and I went for his birthday for a little weekend getaway. We reserved the Eagles Nest suite. The reservation was made through Expedia and when we arrived we were put in a regular room. I went over to the desk and spoke with someone about being in the wrong room and was told that's the room Expedia had put me in and it would be an upcharge. I pulled up my receipt in my email which clearly stated I had reserved the suite. The girl called her boss and it was fixed and we was able to switch with no upcharge. I'm just glad that our suite was not assigned to someone else with the mixup. If you book through 3rd party site I'd advise calling to confirm your reservation was placed correctly. We are a senior couple and have great difficulty with stairs, we booked a room and noted that that a first floor room was an absolute must and asked that the hotel let us know if this was not possible. Upon check in an extremely arrogant woman advised me that a first floor room would require a hefty upcharge, I asked for my money back so that we could go elsewhere that we could afford and was refused. My choice was pay the upcharge or lose my money. There was not a bit of compassion or understanding, in fact the woman stated that she didn’t care about a bad review as they get them all the time. The hotel was literally empty of guests that night as we saw only one other occupied room, they could have simply given us one of a dozen or so empty ground floor rooms rather than require us to cra

We needed a room for the night as we were traveling through the area. We found the rooms to be clean and comfortable. We were on the second floor and there was no elevator which may be a concern for some people. The indoor animal exhibit was excellent. Due to the winter season the outdoor exhibit was closed. We would stay here again.

I unfortunately was not able to make it to my stay due to the recent snow storm. My flight from out of town was delayed by multiple days and the staff at log cabin were kind enough to at first move my reservation forward one night and then were able to fully refund me even though the cancellation date has long passed. I feel it is important to write this review to acknowledge the kind gesture by management here. They did not have to refund me but they did. I do look forward to staying here soon. Kudos to the hotel staff and management you rock!
