Customer Reviews
Log Cabin Hideaways has long been a favorite getaway of mine. As a kid, my family and I stayed at the Triangle Lake cabin for many summer weeks. We always enjoyed the solitude, reading time, the fantastic canoeing and amazing fishing! I always got my wildlife fix as well, seeing everything from eagles and ospreys to a pine marten one year! ||The Triangle Lake cabin is an amazing building, hand built by Steve himself. The sleeping loft is was my favorite as a kid. I have many of my favorite childhood memories at this place. Evening smallmouth and walleye fishing on Triangle Lake, even day trips to the BWCA on the Kawishiwi River.||We returned in the summer of 2012 for another stay with a large group of family for a perfect week of relaxation and great fishing. Nothing better than a walleye
My husband and I have been here twice so far: once for our honeymoon and once for our sixth month anniversary. We absolutely love it! Dean and Cecilia, the couple who run it, are incredibly caring, thoughtful, and helpful. We enjoyed visiting during February. It was so beautiful and serene at the cabin. We got to enjoy snowshoeing, winter hiking, and seeing all kinds of animal tracks in the snow. It’s definitely remote, and we hardly saw any people besides a few cross country skiers. The cabins themselves are gorgeous, well-made, and stocked with the main items you would need for a weekend or week getaway. The surrounding scenery is breathtaking and feels untouched. We can’t wait to return!
If you want to experience the wilderness and still have a cozy cabin to come home to at night, you cannot do better than Log Cabin Hideaways White Iron Cabin. My mother and I stay here for a week every year and it feels like home. Its clean, comfortable, and is less remote than some of the other, equally nice, cabins owned by Steve and Liz Lampman. This cabin is accessible by car and has running water and electricity, which is nice when you've been out canoeing or hiking all day. This is the best place to stay in the best town in the world.
We have stayed at Liz and Steve's log Cabin Hideaways for over 10 years...first Kempton, then Lark lake and Triangle 3 times!!! There is nothing that compares!!! I know they are looking to sell and pod enjoy retirement... We'll be sad but encourage anyone to take advantage while you still can...beautiful nature amazing cabins and an experience like nothing else!!
