Lodge in Alpena

I give this a one star for the room. This rating should be separated from the restaurant which had amazing food that I would give at least a four star. Our room was in the lodge units out back. It appeared there have been little updating since the 70s. Original carpeting. The cleanliness was questionable, especially after we saw the dirty coffee pot with the molded coffee filter. Tub and blinds were dirty. Once you see the mold in the coffee pot, you begin to question Every inch of cleanliness. When we told the owner about the coffee pot mold, she said she would bring a Keurig down to us. It never showed up. There was no offer to reduce our outrageous $110 per night charge. Please reconsider before staying at this hotel/lodge. Please.

Just had dinner at the lodge in Alpena. Hands down one of the best meals in the area. Everything there is crafted with attention to detail, and so delicious. Our waitress Debby was phenomenal; she made the entire experience unforgettable. When we get the chance, we will again dine at the Lodge.

I can't say enough good things about the owners. They were a blessing to us when we got snowed in. The rooms are quiet and room 1 has two separate sleeping areas as well as a kitchen. It opens into the back porch with beautiful views and a fire pit area with seating and a picnic table. If you are looking for a quiet getaway this is your stop. Be sure to make reservations for dinner, the food is fantastic! We'll be back for sure!

Dinner was delicious. The extensive fresh seafood offerings not on the menu were impressive. Could have ordered fresh Tuna, Mahi, Lobster Tail, crab meat, crab cakes. Had the best smoke trout dip ever. Great rustic atmosphere in the middle of the mountains. Great food. Only take cash or check.

This place is a true hidden gem. My family and I LOVE coming here to eat every time we're in town! The food is fresh and always hits the spot. The atmosphere is welcoming and the staff is very friendly and welcoming, too! We always look forward to eating here before we make our way to camp. Looking forward to eating here again very soon!
