Lock 70 Schoolhouse Inn

On an overnight from Cumberland to Oldtown and back, Lock 70 Schoolhouse Inn was a perfect stop. We had two excellent rides and a great time staying over in this uniquely re-done former schoolroom. Comfortable beds and Keurig coffee. There were only 3 of us so the space huge, but cozy and fun. We bought snacks, dinner and breakfast from Rita at the Schoolhouse kitchen. A perfect mini adventure.

Wonderful place 2 eat off the canal.Had supper there and.brought cake home.Ah gosh food is so good.And the lady cooks r very nice and.very good cooks..we were full and loved it all.was nice going back .great day .

What a great place to stay! While biking the C&O towpath this was a great change of pace from camping. Clean room with plenty of sleeping accommodations, as well as water refill jugs and even a washer & dryer. Waking up in the morning we enjoyed a great breakfast and conversation at the kitchen attached the the school. Would stay here again!

Unique place, great for my family of 5, spacious enough for kids to move around. In a repurposed school building along with a small store/cafe. A community playground is nearby as well as access to the canal path. The host was accessible and provided service beyond what corporations can offer. I highly recommend for those who are open to a rustic but comfortable overnight.

This place was unbelievable. It was so spacious. It was great. Washer and dryer were there and no charge. The bed was amazing. Sitting area was outstanding.
