This lake is absolutely beautiful. So much so, we chose it to get married at! The drive in is a little rough but it is so worth it.

Like many of the campgrounds that are in the San Juan mountains, Little Molass Lake is a gorgeous place. Just be prepared because you'll need to be completely self-sufficient. There is a pit toilet down at the main parking area, but it is pretty nasty. The road into the campground is rather rough for larger vehicles. Large deep, awkwardly spaced potholes.

I have been to 5 of the 7 continents and almost every state and this is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. The views are fantastic!!! There are only vault toilets, no showers or any running water. The vault toilets were very clean and virtually no smell. The downsides are that it is first come, first served only. Also the road in could definitely use some help, it is rough. They need to develop more sites, there are not very many and with the first come, first served it fills up quickly. I was there Sept. 13th and it was full by 1PM. Take note there are no tables.

This place is a treasure!!! Hiking trail, fishing, astonishing scenery. It stays busy so don’t roll in late and expect to find a spot. Vault toilets. Some spots with hitching post for a horse or two. Tents, campers (not big rigs) friendly. The wildflowers, reflective views of the lake and brooks/streams are enough by themselves. It IS busy. Lots of day users who fish/ hike and some even swim in the frigid cold lake waters. The area around the lake can be boggy so bring rubber boots if you plan to fish the edges. Many canoe and kayak in this tiny lake. We saw locals getting wedding pics done their ! That proves what a treasure it is. Ample Day use parking. Be careful of health concerns as this is at about 10,900 to 11,000 plus feet above sea level. Enjoy!

A beautiful place to elope <3. It is so serene and stunningly beautiful. We were lucky enough to be there as the Aspens were changing. I hope to make this spot for our anniversary celebration, every year! Easy trails in and out....the Colorado Trail picks up just down from the lake at the larger day use parking lot. First come, first serve camping sites - some look big enough for larger rigs, dry camping only. You won't want to miss this incredible place!
