Little Mill Campground

I like to go on fall walks here. It’s paved, except the gap where to trail got washed away a couple years ago… not sure when they’re going to fix it. The gap in the trail disconnected the lower picnic area from the main camping loop, across the river - right behind the big pavilion. It is passable without getting wet(in the fall, you’d get wet in the spring/summer). My 3 year old can step down and cross that rocky section with no trouble. The camping is usually pretty full even in the shoulder seasons yet it still feels quiet unless a Harley or off-roading vehicle is buzzing up the canyon, which unfortunately happens all day and night. Gorgeous sites along the river & SR92, the traffic noise can be loud and a lot especially in the afternoon & weekends as it is the beautiful alpine loop. But morning traffic isn't that much. Very shady, cool, clean, and beautiful. Camp host is very friendly & chatty. While we were there for 7 nites, a few obnoxious day users would cross our site to fly fish in the river, even when we were sitting at our rv. This area is very active with day users that come in to the campground to fish or rock climbing, even on weekdays.

Clean and well managed. Restrooms were cleaned daily by camp hosts. Picnic table at each camp site. Dogs allowed, but leashed. River runs just behind it. Mature trees and mountains setting. Caught brook trout from the river just behind my camp. This is a dry camp, meaning no hookups. (Power, water). the only detractor is the main road to the canyon is close and there is some road noise.

Update: We spent another weekend at Little Mill and again had a great time! We fished, went for walks, watched the rock climbers and enjoyed nights by the campfire! We had a great time camping at Little Mill! The sites were clean and it was great hearing the river at night! Our kids loved playing in the river and sliding down the rocks! We caught fish that we cooked up for dinner! The camp hosts were friendly and helpful.

Very nice campground close to the river, cliffside, and main road. The sites can easily accommodate small to mid size trailers or motorhomes. Tent camping spots are available, but are quite small. None of the sites are very isolated or private. Pit toilets are available. Camping and day use passes are available. There is access to the river, which can be slow flowing enough for wading or playing during the summer or fall.
