Only stay in an emergency! Very old motel dbl cabins. Motel office reeked of mildew. AC unit very old & VERY LOUD couldn't run it while trying to sleep & no screen on windows so couldn't open that for air either. No outlets only 1 powerstrip, not electrically safe. No coffee maker! OLD carpeting & furniture. Bolt lock didn't work only knob lock, didn't feel safe. Floor sagging, only parallel parking in front of cabins. Overall clean and staff very nice & helpful.
another famous RT66 motel. the wifi was my only beef....had some issues trying to work. no coffee in room/lobby but a convenience store a couple blocks away took care of that. chandler OK is a vibrant town and there was alot of cool things to see within walking distance of the motel.
I was traveling on Rt66 and thought this would be a cute little place to stay. I should have turned around and ran out! Everything in the room sloped to the middle. The desk was cut to fit but was at a slope. The wall unit air conditioning was so loud you could not hear the TV. I have no idea how they pass an electrical inspection. I was scared of a fire. The fridge, microwave, TV and air conditioner all plugged into one outlet with a splitter. The water in the bathroom would not shut off. As I came out of the bathroom I noticed I could see all around the room door! No coffee pot and no hairdryer. The bed squeaks so loud when you sit on it I was afraid it would break. I slept with a chair against the door. Go on down the road and stay for at least $5.00 less in a real motel.
I am traveling rt 66 and thought this place would be be a nice retro stop. It’s just worn past usable but is one of only a few choices. It has a crack head motel feel. The floors lean the paint is peeling the vintage sign is broken. The gas wall heater kept setting of the smoke alarm. The list goes on and on. And it isn’t cheap. |Fix it up or bury it.
This is a very old throwback to the days of touring Route 66 and the bungalow hotels that dotted America's highway. Indian owned and Indian decorated I have to emphatically express how clean and comfortable this place is for it's age. The bed was a firm foam mattress making a very comfortable sleep. The sheets laundry clean. The bath though tiny is very clean and the shower was excellent. Updated wood simulant floor, new sink, and meaty towels made the bath as good as the higher price chain places.. Soap and shampoo was nicely presented and more than adequate, very appreciated. So, even though this place is worn down and way out of date, and can easily be passed by as an eyesore, this tiny room was a comfortable clean little jewel. Surprise yourself.
