Limestone Mansion Bed & Breakfast

I can't say enough about Limestone Mansion. Aside from the warm welcome from owners Jim and Suzie Donaldson and their son Max, the elegant period decor, and supremely comfortable guest rooms (you will love the silky high thread count sheets!), their hospitality goes WAY above and beyond. We arrived late on a Monday afternoon, expecting to dine in one of the nearby Cherry Valley restaurants. Unfortunately, one had closed for the season; the other wasn't open Mondays. While Cooperstown isn't far, we were too tired after a very long drive. We were about to pick up sandwiches at a nearby deli when Suzie called to say, "Jim and I are cooking dinner for you." What an amazing stay we had at the Limestone Mansion! We were there for a weekend getaway and this exceeded any expectations we had. The location is a quick 20 minutes from Cooperstown and the views on the trip can’t be beat (do yourself a favor and add a couple minutes to the trip and follow the Otsego Lake)! The house itself is beautiful and Jim and Suzie will go above and beyond to make sure you have what you need. Jim was waiting for us out front when we arrived to show us around and give us a warm welcome. The room and bathroom were very clean and the bed was so cozy. The breakfast was to die for (see pictures) and the attention to detail was impressive. Jim was there to greet us in the morning, share stories, and give us recommendations for the day. I can’t say enough good things about my stay here. From the entrance to the exit, this mansion is an extremely beautiful work of architecture. The decor is beautifully appointed. Can not forget how welcoming, friendly and helpful Susie and Jim are. They both are great hosts that are attentive to your every need. I stayed in room 8 which was a very large room with its own private bath. The bed was very comfortable! The room had a nice couch and large marble coffee table. Lots of space for luggage and hangers available. The shower was a nice added touch with the double shower heads. I highly recommend this B&B and will definitely be back! A stay at the Limestone Mansion B&B is like stepping back in time. The home's architecture and decor are reminiscent of "the Gilded Age" and provide an opportunity to enjoy life in the late 1800's. Our hosts, Jim and Suzie, made sure that our stay was comfortable and enjoyable with great attention to detail. The daily breakfasts by chef Jake were delicious as well as beautifully presented. The location is in gorgeous upstate New York - close to Cooperstown, Albany, and Syracuse. It's well within driving distance of historic sites like Seneca Falls, and Auburn, NY. The Limestone Mansion is an exceptional experience.

My husband and I had an amazing stay at the Limestone Mansion. What a great place to spend our first few days newly married - great hospitality, yummy breakfast (they even went above and beyond to leave it outside our door the morning after the wedding so we could eat in bed!), amazing architecture, & the comfiest beds! We will be coming back here for anniversaries! Thank you for everything!
