Letchworth State Park D Cabins

The only complaints I have is you need to bring your own trashcans and coffeemaker(not even a complaint I just took it for granted.) Otherwise, this adorable cabin will give you a safe place to bed down when you aren't running around seeing the gorge or the air plane museum. I got to see a hot air balloon for the first time ever, the falls were beautiful and the campground itself was full of polite and friendly people and staff members. You get a tall camp grill and a regular fire pit which is super nice. The screen porch is such a luxury when the bugs start biting. Not sure if all cabins are one bedroom but 006A was. It was such a lovely stay. Excited to return. 🦝

There are many cabins at Letchworth Park, and this review only applies to one, cabin D003, a small two-person-log-cabin. The D and E cabins are located on the not so public, much quieter side of the gorge, by the parade grounds. We stayed at the end of September 2020 from Tuesday to Friday morning. We typically tent camp, but I wanted something to get us up off the ground and give us some headroom. So I considered this to be our "log cabin tent." And as you can see, it was only slightly larger then our tent. It came with two cots that could not be put together, so if you are planning on a good time, you better be flexible. Second time staying in D-1. Love the park and the rustic cabin. This cabin is very private and a short walk to the recently renovated restroom/shower facilities which are well maintained. The cabin has an apartment sized electric range and refrigerator. It also has a usable fireplace and electric heat.

An awesome experience! The accommodations were simply perfect. Very clean and peaceful. Perfectly placed within the park with many beautiful sites close by to see and experience.

Cabins are full of mice. I understand they are rustic but mice walking around in the room is a straight health hazard. I talked to the park manager and she told me D and E cabins are "barely" maintained and it is normal. I will write to Health department about it. Let's see how normal it is.
