You refused to allow a reservation for a Veteran and his family because they had a service dog. In CLEAR VIOLATION of the Americans With Disabilities Act, your staff proceeded to ask very personal information about their disability and "classify" their animal as just emotional support, telling them that their dog was not a service dog. Very, very illegal. Once upon a time, I enjoyed your resort. No more and never again.

I have never, now I will never stay here and I will tell everyone I know about this company from here on out!!! I just found out that a veteran with the Soldier6 organization that has a fully compliant and certified ADA service dog that I helped to develop from a puppy was denied a room to stay in. Kimberly the Hotel Manager felt that PTSD is an “emotional” issue and a service dog is unnecessary. To all my fellow Veteran brothers and sisters do not give patronage to this company!!!!

We have been here before but typically stay at the Pelican Bay townhomes which are beautiful, quiet, with a lovely view of the lake - I would give those units 5 stars. Unfortunately this visit we stayed in High Village which is not nearly the caliber. The room is like a hotel room directly overlooking the indoor pool, very noisy until 11:00 when the pool closes. No outside view at all. It is also poorly kept, with bare spots on the carpet in some places and duck tape in others. The furniture is so worn, thank goodness we didn’t have anyone sleeping on the pull-out couch, it was uncomfortable to sit on so I can’t imagine trying to sleep on it. This business is not about family. They refused to book a reservation to a veteran and his family because they have a service dog. Then when called to educate was rudely told it was none of their business and hung up. They posted an apology that was any but that and then proceeded to delete all comments under it. Very unprofessional and disrespectful for all Veterans or anyone who requires a service animal.

I didn't stay, nor will my family EVER waste our money here for rude customer service alone. But this goes beyond rude customer service. Your very uneducated worker believes PTSD is just an emotional disorder. It's not JUST an emotional disorder and qualifies as a disability that is eligible under the FEDERAL (American Disabilities Act [ACA]) AND MINNESOTA STATE laws for a certified service dog. The worker violated federal and state laws regarding discrimination of a disability. Questions that can be asked of someone with a service dog are limited, beyond those questions violates HIPAA, which was done in this situation. So it seems not 1, not 2, but 3 laws were violated in this one situation. As a mental health professional and advocate, I advise your company to provide mandatory training
