Le Mars Inn & Suites

I have stayed in a lot of hotels and motels in my life and I honestly can say this is the second worst one I've ever stayed at. The rooms are absolutely filthy. Don't even think to look underneath the furniture. We were scouring the room trying to find the remote for the TV when we come to find out they don't put remotes for the TV in your room, you have to rent them from the front desk. I am not kidding! I have never heard of anything like that. You can control the TV but it only has one button that does everything so you have to be a little intuitive. Our TV wasn't even plugged in in the first place. It's easier just to unplug it after you've been using it than trying to figure out how to shut it off through the one button menu. There's gum in the carpet, there were bugs in the room and

Rooms were clean. No breakfast, free breakfast was advertised, and when we asked about coffee in the morning we were told to go to Hy-Vee across the street.

This is our 2nd year staying here and it has been very wonderful! That family that runs it is incredibly kind and helpful. I love the tasty continental breakfast, how nice and cool the rooms were in this hot weather, the shower had great pressure and stayed warm for a long time, and the tv had my favorite channels. It is also very conveniently in walking distance of both Walmart and Hyvee. Will definitely stay here again next time!

Gross is the only word that describes this place. Avoid this place if at all possible. It was my only option for one night. They even had the audacity to ask if I needed to view the room but then explained nothing else was available. GROSS!!!

The hotel is old and has been renovated. It could use a good face lift on the outside. Checking in was quick. There is no secure locks on the exterior doors, keys card was not needed to enter the doors in back of hotel, you could smell that someone was cooking in their room. When we got to our room we noticed a garbage bag covering the smoke detector. The electric lock did not work as we could just open the room door. In the bathroom I pulled out a hand towel to use and there were 4 dirty Q tips tucked in side. The towels had not been washed in some time as you could see the indents of the towel bar in the towel. I won't go back to this place ever again and I advise others not to stay here either.
