Landmark Inn Fort Irwin

Friendly staff, nice breakfast, quiet rooms. For a location that has a monopoly on stays, the hotel and staff treat you right. Breakfast each morning is more than adequate for my needs. The only thing preventing a 5 star is that the decor is dated and needs a modern style update.

I had a very good stay at this lodging. They cleaned the room every morning thoroughly. No one went through my things and kept my privacy. The internet did go out but honestly, it is a remote location, and things happen. It would be good if they used StarLink which might give better service. I am not much of breakfast eater these days, but the coffee machine there made good coffee, and I appreciate it. This is Army lodging. It is not a five start hotel but I would look forward to staying there again. The staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and comfortable. It met my needs as I was able to sleep well on decent bed with clean linen, take a hot shower in a clean bathroom at night with clean towels, and wash my clothes in a clean and serviced laundry room as needed. I wish I could give this place a better rating. But considering it is one of two places to stay on base, it is ridiculous that I'm spending $100+ a night. The cleaning is amazing, but the smell of bleach afterwards was headache inducing. There's multiple maintenance issues including plumbing, the air conditioning, the internet. The breakfast is so carb heavy and what little protein is there is cooked to rubber. The staff is absolutely fabulous, and does what it can to accommodate these issues, but leaves guests shrugging about their visit. With it having virtually no competition, I'm not surprised. I see potential.

Staff is amazing. Hotel is a dump. Worst bed and pillows I have ever slept on. Wifi was down more than it was up. Only plus is the convience of being on post, but after a month on these beds I will drive back and forth the barstow on my next rotation

Treadmill requires a login and the hotel doesn’t have one so it’s a giant paperweight. Of the 3 pieces of equipment, only the weights are usable. Myself and others have reported this issue multiple times this rotation. You probably shouldn’t blame the guest. It’s the equipment, required internet connection which requires an additional login, and its the settings.
