Lakewood Park Campground

This place is absolutely amazing. A hidden gem for sure. The staff here are very family oriented and treat you as such. I cant say enough about the restaurant and bar upstairs. It's cozy, clean and so beautiful. If you ever get the chance to come here, please do so! You can tell that they take great pride in the beautiful back woods campground. This place is great! We stayed one night in Cabin #1, as guests of a party in the large (also beautiful) event space. The Cabin feels brand new, and is very spacious. Lots of windows (and window shades), a big bathroom with a big shower, comfy bed, and an extra sink in the living area along with the mini-fridge/freezer. Everything was spotless, and the provided toiletries (soap, lotion, shampoo, conditioner, face wipes) were helpful. We felt very private, even though we were so close to the event building, thanks to outbuildings between and all the trees. The front porch looks out onto the parking area, but just turn your chair a bit for a more natural view. What a great weekend get away! This place is great and the staff is amazing! We stayed at a tent site T-4 and had plenty of room. The new restaurant and bar are a great touch! Very close to both Tuscarora and Locust lake easy to find activities. They even having kayaking and paddle boats! The bath houses were clean and in very good condition. The event center on site is also gorgeous and perfect for weddings! Nothing bad could be said about our weekend and we loved it. We will definitely be back and telling all of our friends!

We ended up at Lakewood Park Campground unexpectedly when our water pump quit in our truck half way to our destination (CT to VA), and I’m so glad this place was only a few miles away. The campground is super quiet and peaceful, with beautiful lake views and plenty of room for walking our dogs who absolutely loved it. The staff was helpful and able to get us in right away, which was such a relief. Even though our stay started out because of an Truck water pump hiccup, it turned into a calm and enjoyable week while the truck was repaired right down the road. We’ll definitely keep this campground in mind for future trips.

This is probably the nicest campground we’ve ever been to. You can see the pride and care given by the owners all around. It was very clean everywhere. We stopped just for a night, not too far from major interstate. Friendly front desk staff, restaurant/bar upstairs with a varied menu. Only complaint which has nothing to do with the campground, is the proximity to train tracks and the roar of the train passing through. It wasn’t enough to deter us from wanting to come again! Bathrooms were immaculately clean!
