Lake Wapusun RV Resort

I do want to make this clear - this is NOT a Hotel. Just for anyone wondering, because for some reason Google seems to think it is. This is a Campground. My brother and his wife came to stay for their honeymoon in a cabin. My kids and I came to spend a day either them. We had an awesome time. The golf cart was a huge advantage. The cabin stairs are steep, and placed a little odd - but the porch views over the pretty lake. Plenty to do in the game room! Staff were absolutely incredible! Very friendly, and were all-around happy, attentive folk. I have a few friends that are seasonal here and they adore this place as well. Great playground, the jump pad is super fun; there's SO much to do. Great place. We're planning to come primitive camp in October.

Used to be a great place… not anymore. Lake Wapusun RV Resort used to be one of the best spots around when the previous owners ran it. It had a friendly, family oriented vibe and a real sense of community. Unfortunately, ever since the ownership change and the new management company took over, everything has gone downhill fast. The new manager is rude, constantly changes the rules, and makes it nearly impossible to enjoy your stay. Prices have gone up, but the quality of the campground has gone way down. So many of the seasonal campers who made this place great have already packed up and left, and I can’t blame them. The heart of this campground is gone. My husband and I camped at Lake Wapasun over memorial weekend. The grounds are beautiful. It’s a nice and easy trip from Columbus. It’s not too far but far away enough to be out of the hustle and bustle of the city to enjoy the peaceful beautiful rolling countryside and fresh air! The camp managers were very personable and friendly. Jennifer made sure we had everything we needed. Other campers were very outgoing and made you feel welcome. We met some very nice people like Terry and Sheila who are regular weekend campers at Lake Wapasun. Camp managers, Sheila, Terry and Leroy came to our aid when we locked our keys and golden retriever inside our camper! Super nice and caring group of people. “Used to be a place for families… now it’s just about money.” For years, Lake Wapusun was a second home for me and my family. We spent countless holidays here, especially the 4th of July, surrounded by people who had been part of this community for decades. Unfortunately, since the new ownership took over, everything has changed… and not for the better. They’ve been forcing out long-time campers who helped make this place what it is, all while trying to bring in “higher-paying” guests. There’s nothing wrong with improving a campground, but the way it’s being done feels wrong. They keep raising prices, adding absurd new rules, and pretending it’s a luxury resort while the reality is, the place is being patched together and doesn’t reflect the money they’re charging. We came this past weekend, they were doing a little carnival for the kids.. my kids loved it they walked around offering popsicles to the kiddos everyone working there was SO nice even people who don’t work there are the nicest people ever. Even had a DJ at night which was so fun!! So much fun we’re actually coming back Saturday because we loved it so much!!! Gonna for sure be coming here a lot!!
