Went to Metro Park for a sunny beach/pool day. Great weather, warm water, and cool beach day for the kiddos. Pool was $5 and Splash Pad was free. $10 for parking. Can have picnic area close to pool or close to beach or in between! Not too bad. Only 25min from downtown Detroit ❤️
Such a wonderful park and now an exciting place to camp. The sites are in a beautiful location, aside the lake. Gorgeous views of sunrise, sunset. Restrooms (no showers) are right there. Awesome opportunity to spot a variety of birds, and tons of activities to enjoy in the park after Sunrise! **Be aware of mild wildlife caution: skunks regularly patrol the shoreline during night + twilights; coyote have become more present in the park since 2022, and I've observed them in this specific area. They tend to avoid people but I'd leave the Chihuahua at home.
I just love Metro Beach! They are definitely redoing many things and making it more of a natural space for the habitat.
Just verified by the park director, we are officially the first campers ever!
