La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Milwaukee Delafield

This hotel is comfortable but could use some upgrading. They could improve by walk-in showers, high rise toilets, grab bars for handicapped guests. Linen is pretty thin and of a 5 night stay, only had linen change once. Front desk staff is friendly and helpful. Nice pool and hot tub. Nice breakfast in lobby. First floor seems to be pets and kids and guests often cause a great deal of noise in the lobby area and can be heard all the way down the hall. And of course, some guests are just rude and disrespectful of others which is not the hotel's fault but makes a stay less comfortable. They are short staffed so hallways get littered quickly. A very convenient place to stay and was filled to capacity during our stay.

My family and extended family have stayed here multiple times in the last several years. While it’s economical with a great location, there are some struggles. The hotel is loud - plumbing (can hear pipes in neighboring rooms), heating/air and other guests. Lots of trash piled in hallways and near stairwells. While towels were replaced, room was not made up for three days and in room coffee not replenished. Staff was polite.

First, location, lobby, personnel, breakfast were outstanding for a budget motel. Lobby was beautifully decorated and the breakfast fresh and clean, and much appreciated. This was much better than comparative places.|My negative critique comes from the room itself. It smelled horrible, like a homeless person had been living there, even though non-smoking. I realized when I went to bed that even though the sheets appeared very clean, the bed smelled horrible. I always take Chlorox wipes to any motel and wipe down the commonly touched areas, but that wasn’t nearly enough. There was a visible urine spot on the toilet seat, food left between the bathroom and dressing area, The microwave was literally filthy and the fridge had not been cleaned in a good long while. I am deeply disappointed with this hotel, not only because of the experience I had and my wedding guests had while staying there, but also because of how management responded afterward. After leaving honest reviews of our stay, we were threatened by the owner with a lawsuit for “defamation of character” if we did not remove our reviews. No guest should ever be intimidated or silenced for sharing their personal experience with an establishment. Defamation CANNOT be charged when something is TRUE and there is concrete proof. Until I see the report from Orkin and the Health Department, my review will stay up as people left the hotel with bites and bugs were present.
