La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Miami Airport West

What we liked of this location: good size room, comfy bed, spacious bathroom, and fridge. The patio next to the pool with smoking option was a plus. Breakfast was good for the available selections. What needs improvement, the check in was slow and interrupted twice, even though I had check in online. The room keys kept failing and had to get new ones each day. There was no 24 hr coffee available as the sign said. The room floor was dirty with lint, as if it was never swept. Finally, for the price I would have expected better.

It’s a better La Quinta property. The staff is nice. They might be overwhelmed with many little things that need addressing so they don’t get to it in a timely fashion. I stayed for four nights. I first noticed hair stuck on towels, in the tub and that the floor was filthy. (They need to use a swifter to pick up all of the hair. Perhaps they need to clean out their dryer link often and consider using something for static) We swept the floor. Asked for a new lightbulb and each person asked forgot. Finally the bedside lamp had a replacement bulb, we noticed new towels, garbage pails were refreshed and the bed was sharpened up better than we had left it. Check-in was smooth, but the overall stay has been very frustrating due to poor housekeeping service, lack of communication, and cleanliness issues. At check-in, no one informed me that housekeeping had to be requested. The next day when I returned, my room had not been cleaned. By Tuesday, it still had not been serviced. When I called the front desk, I was told housekeeping must be requested, which was never explained upon arrival. I was then told the room would be cleaned by Wednesday, but when I came back Wednesday, it was still not cleaned. I have had to repeatedly ask for basic necessities like towels and toilet paper. Earlier today I was told at 3:30 PM that someone would bring them to my room. It is now 8:00 PM and I still have not received any towels or toilet paper. When I calle

Positive: The staff was great. Negative: The transportation from the hotel to the airport took additional money for pick-up from the boat in advance that was included. We had to pay for a taxi to get from the boat. I will NEVER use the hotel transportation services if I stay there again.

NO SHUTTLE- and there hasn't been since covid. Yeah you can look at the reviews and see that there is NO SHUTTLE but la Quinta doesn't want to update the website or start operating the shuttle. Like the review I just read, that was one of the reasons we stayed here. So mainly for not caring about their clientele enough to put out accurate information, I probably won't stay at any La Quinta anytime soon. Room was ok. Thank goodness the heater worked as we were here during an unusually cold time. The staff has been great. I liked that I had 3 pillows that were different, so I could pick the one I liked. There are good sides to the place.
