La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Gonzales TX

These hotels want to charge $100+/night, and the quality hasn’t kept up with the pricing!! Our room’s shower/tub drain didn’t work, but only found out while in the shower! Water wouldn’t drain at all without standing there and plunging it. Like didn’t the cleaning person notice that?!!! It filled almost immediately, so there was no way someone didn’t notice! Also, when we checked in, we had to ring and ring the bell, and the kid comes out with her phone in hand, no greeting, and grudgingly started the process of giving us our room. Seriously??!!! The location is convenient and the room was mostly okay otherwise…

We had a great stay. Online check in was helpful to cut short any need for documentation at the front desk. Staff were very friendly. Room was serviced every morning. Our room was spacious and clean. Every thing worked. Location is close to downtown.

I checked the price and 24 hours later booked the room, and the price had gone up $20 in 24 hours. Then when I arrived and checked in, there was a huge, loud, fan in my room. I discovered this was because the carpet was wet. The hotel was completely booked so there was no where to move to. The door handles - room and bathroom - as well as bathtub knob - were all disgustinly greasy. I had to wash them with a washcloth. The bathroom smelled bad as well. The parking lot was way too small for the hotel and there were no spaces left for us. I would not stay there again.

It's a little out of the way but that's ok. The room was clean. It did have a musty smell but i think it was because it was closed up for a bit. There was rust around the doors and vanity. The shower dripped all night but not horrible.
