La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Ft. Lauderdale Airport

I’m honestly surprised this hotel is rated as a 2-star property. The biggest issue during my stay was sanitation. Housekeeping either needs more thorough training on proper cleaning standards or an entirely new team. There was also a significant language barrier, which made it difficult to communicate basic needs. It seemed like rooms were cleaned in a rush, and if management is enforcing strict time limits, the quality of cleaning is clearly suffering. This hotel also needs a full renovation. The water pressure was very poor, the A/C barely worked, and the elevator was extremely slow. The hot tub jets were weak, and during breakfast they ran out of basic items like tea and sugar. Shuttle|We saw the shuttle driver driving past as soon as we walked outside and tried to flag him down, but he kept driving. Called the hotel and they said he would be returning soon. Waited and called again only to be told the same thing. We ended up making 3 phone calls to the hotel and it was over an hour before he returned. ||Check-in|Check-in wasn’t until 3:00 pm, but we had paid $30 extra to check in at 1:00 pm. We arrived at the hotel around 1:30 but were told our room wasn’t ready. We were told to wait in the lobby and they would let us know when our room was ready. There was a dispenser with chilled water in the lobby, but no cups. Positive: Location, free parking Negative: Breakfast was out of bagels, coffee creamer, orange juice. We were there 1 hour before closing. Hostess was behind closed door when we tried to ask for assistance

We stayed here 5 days and 4 nights. I never ate breakfast here once which was a HUGE reason we booked a hotel with a hot breakfast. If you like hard boiled eggs and a fake overcooked sausage patty every morning than this place is for you! By the second day we had made 3 stops at the front desk to get our room keys fixed because they kept deactivating. 7 times total, SEVEN times we had gone up to the room and had to come back down to the lobby to get it fixed. So frustrating. I wish I was exaggerating it truly is this bad here. The first day we used the gym the treadmill broke which was the only thing worth using in their "gym." The room is extremely mediocre. We were given 5 small standard pillows for a king size bed.. They were so lumpy I did not get 1 decent night sleep. 80% of the pool

Our experience was a good one. The room was clean and neat. The staff was very friendly. They do provide a shuttle service to and from the airport, though do prepare to wait, but it's free. The free breakfast was okay, but nothing special. They serve hard boiled eggs only, no scrambled eggs. The pool and hot tub were nice and very clean. The rest of the hotel was a bit rough around the edges, drywall patches in the ceiling, stained carpets, missing trim that kind of thing. They only have one elevator, and it is old and slow, so prepare to wait a while. All and I, I would stay again, it's clean enough.
