King Birch Motor Lodge

A room with a view... lovely rooms by the lake. Thousands stars in the sky, if you know how to turn the over lights off. Those from your superficial life. The natural lights of the night sky will illuminate your heart :) it's a peaceful retreat in the forest.

The rooms are very older style so if you're looking for a more modern place to stay this probably isn't your kind of motel. The amenities though, were exactly what we needed. Full kitchens (full size older fridge, stove, small oven, coffee maker, toaster, NO microwave...all things I wish I could have made out in the pictures on the website), air conditioning, sofa, queen size bed, cable TV. The full kitchen allowed us to save tons of money on eating out. We were able to prepare our own breakfasts and dinners (we were out for lunches). The only downfall to this was the utensils, pots and pans were not quite what was needed for our cooking, but we had three rooms so between the three we were able to come up with what we did need. We stayed at the King Birch during the week of the 4th of July. We've stayed at a place up the street and the King Birch is: cleaner, more affordable, and the atmosphere is nicer. Our room like all Lake Winni water front resorts was rustic but clean. The room had everything you need whether staying a couple of nights or a week. It's right on the lake and the dock was a nice place to sit and watch the boats go by....the water was clean and shallow with a sandy bottom...not rocky like most docks side places. The Manager was super nice and helpful, letting us know about a few local restaurants and places to go..... we will definitely be staying there again this year!

We stayed in the King Birch Motor Lodges' only little cabin. If you keep in mind this is a lake cabin, it is suitable accomodations. The cabin has its own deck with chairs and a table, a queen size bed that is actually pretty comforable, a very small bathroom with small shower and kitchen (no microwave). The walls are wood paneling and the furniture is outdated, but it's clean. Understand, you have to provide your own coffee and shampoo, but there are plates, cups, and a few pots and pans. We rented a boat and King Birch had a dock we could pay to use and keep the boat overnight. If you want a lake cabin, with a beautiful view and easy access to the lake,||this little cabin is OK.

This out of the way, older style, motel is a quiet, serene place to stay. We rented cabin 10, had breakfast on the deck every morning and were greeted by loons the first morning. The loons sang us to sleep the last evening we were there. If you are not looking for the latest amenities and newest furnishings and are simply wanting a comfortable room with a kitchen, this great location is the place for you.
