Kilmarnock Inn

This review is specific to a restaurant experience we had earlier this month - we didn’t stay at the Inn. We made reservations to celebrate our friends 79 birthday - it was four of us and our reservation was at 5pm so we could get a good table and get the birthday couple home at a reasonable hour. We were told we’d have a private room - but had a booth behind another couple. We told the server it was our friend’s birthday and started off with a round of cocktails. All 4 of the $18-$20 cocktails were watered down with no taste of alcohol. I told the server - after 1 sip - that we’d send the drinks back and get wine but she said she’d bring alcohol to add to the drinks. They were still bad. We loved this cozy Inn with all of its presidential cottages and the gorgeous landscaping. We stayed in the Madison and it exceeded our expectations with cleanliness, comfort, amenities, and charm. Everyone was so nice and accommodating. We will definitely be back.

My wife and I recently came off a 3 night long weekend stay which our overall experience at this property was exceptional. The hotel is situated in Downtown Kilmarnock right in the middle of all the shops and restaurants for an easy / short walk. We stayed in the George Room which was a 2 room suite both spacious and nicely decorated and very clean. The property has approximately 19 different style rooms situated in a quaint courtyard attached to the main building that houses an onsite restaurant & bar. The food quality was incredible …we had breakfast there including a few dinners. Highly recommend checking out the restaurant for the home made quality meals and the wait staff couldn’t be nicer. We had a wonderful stay at the Kilmarnock Inn while visiting friends in the area. The food was excellent, and the atmosphere was especially festive for the holiday season—it truly felt like stepping into a Hallmark movie. What really set the experience apart was the outstanding staff. Everyone was welcoming, attentive, and made us feel completely at home. We couldn’t have asked for a more charming and comfortable place to stay and would happily return.

The Kilmarnock Inn is our favorite spot to have family brunch. They are very accommodating, the food is all delicious and the staff are friendly and attentive. The manager, Kimberly is top notch and that shines throughout her staff. Our server, Amber is incredible. She has waited on us a few times and goes above and beyond. She is also great with kids. We like to park in the back, and walk through the courtyard (per Kim’s suggestion) It’s absolutely beautiful. My four year old has to stop and throw a coin into the wishing well every time. There are also little signs up around the property with quirky tidbits of American history. If you’re going to be in Kilmarnock or any of the surrounding areas, put the Inn on your to do list ! It is a one of a kind treasure.
