This place is one of our favorite fishing spots/ camping spots. We’ve caught some really nice appaloosa as well as some Bass and Brim. Not only is it beautiful and peaceful here the view is an amazing sight to see 1st thing in the morning as the sun peaks over the Dam. The sunsets are just as beautiful. Gates open at 6am sometimes they’re open a little earlier than that.

This campground is awesome, and it's great fishing!! Cool 1930's train horn when the damn opens. Water at every site. Busy boat ramp lots of locals in and out fishing. My only complaint about this place is that whoever uses it doesn't treat it properly. Trash everywhere, fire pits full of trash and beer cans. I was very upset to see tags still up previous guest boyscouts and sites trashed. Multiple trash cans are located all over the campground. This place was empty for a few days. The trash can still be full!! This could be a beautiful campground if the locals took care of it. Site #1 is long 45'+ over looks boat ramp Site #2 has a beautiful view out into the water. easily fit a 35'-40' rig Site #3 is my favorite site. I have parked in this site multiple times over the past 3 years. 4

We camp here year round and love it, just wish they would allow longer than 10 day stays, and 14 days away before coming back for another stay. It's beautiful and quiet. You also can't beat $5 a night, bathroom and shower, also water, no power though, it would be great if they did have power . It's a wonderful place to stay.

Power Dam at Lake Blackshear. Great fishing in Flint River.

Camped here 3 years ago and was a great experience. So recently I called to make a reservation but was told the campsite is closed until about December 2025 due to construction. Glad I called before going.
