Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park Campground

Large spacious park with a number of sites with power and water. Lots of tent sites with no power. Several bath houses, one with laundry facilities. Host was extremely helpful and friendly. Our site had no picnic table and no fire ring. Our host was able to bring over a fire ring. Deferred maintenance is evident throughout the park. Small playground available for kids.

Kentucky Dam Village State Park , Gilbertville, KY This is only a campground review because we arrived late and left early. There are many facilities in this park including a lodge , boat dock, golf course, etc. Arriving at night in the dark we had a challenge finding the campground. Info signs are few and far between and they don’t show up at night. Once in the camp ground we had no idea where to go because there are no signs saying which loop and the numbers on that loop. So we just picked a spot near the first bath house. I had already read reviews saying that 2 sites share electric and water and they were hard to reach without a real long ext cord. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were looking for a quiet getaway and that is exactly what we got. The views are beautiful and the rooms are very clean and well maintained. The only thing that was the slightest inconvenience was that all the restaurant offered was a buffet, we were unable to order from the menu.

Campground is beautiful. Campsites are spacious. Looks like a wonderful place but the mining/ excavation goes on through the night and day. And then the trains come and go hauling the materials to their destination. It's like sleeping in an industrial area.

Very well maintained and clean. Our parking space wasn’t level at all but we were able to work with it. Beautiful mature trees! We were told by someone on a golf cart that we could park on the grass if we wanted but we didn’t. Electric and water were right where we needed them. A camp store would be awesome but it seems not enough people know about this place! Would stay here again.
