Kennedy Meadows Resort & Packstation

I would choose the Stanislaus National Forest over Yosemite any day! This past weekend I stayed in the back meadow (upper meadow? Not sure the name) at Kennedy Meadows. It was the last weekend of the season in October and on Sunday morning there was ice on the ground. It was cold but worth it. If you're driving up here, it's worth it to stay for 3 or more days. You can easily fill a couple days at the resort with hiking, fishing, and horseback riding but you can tack on day trips to Bodie or explore other areas for hiking. The PCT runs through a lot of hiking trails in the area if that is of interest to you. The general store sells fishing licenses if you are in need but they also have a restaurant and a bar. As far as I know, there is no trailer dumping here.

Cabins:|We stayed in both Cabin 3 and Cabin 4 and had a truly enjoyable experience. Cabin 4 was spacious, perfect for a group, while Cabin 3 had a cozy, charming vibe, ideal for three guests. However, Cabin 3 was a bit warm as it only has one window, so we left the door slightly open at night. The generator runs from 5 AM to 11 PM, and both cabins are near it, but we quickly adapted to the sound and hardly noticed it after a while.||Location:|The location is unbeatable! You’re within walking distance of stunning hikes, such as the trails to Relief Reservoir and Kennedy Lake, with countless other hiking options just a short drive away. The property itself sits right on the river, making it a paradise for fishing enthusiasts and perfect for cooling off with a dip or exploring the banks.||Res

I stayed in the campground at the upper meadow past the store. I am alwys so in awe of how beautiful and incredible it feels to be there. So many people Hiking and just enjoying the sierras. I've lived in Sierra my entire life. And it's been years I don't plan letting another year or 2 go by. Kennedy Meadows a must-visit and must camp place in out beautiful Sierra Nevada mountains. Plan on staying for a few days at least. So many places to hike , ride horses and fish. An outdoor dream.

We come and stay every year, and we absolutely love it! Staff at the store are wonderful and helpful. The rooms are completely outdoorsy cozy. Do not come here expecting a cozy hotel city feel, this is the come and reconnect with friends and family and get dirt on you place.

Great day. Me and my son loved it. Good horses, knowledgeable staff of all ages. Family run business. Had such a great time we went back a week later for a longer ride. Great food too. I highly recommend. 5star 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
