Decent campground. Some low hanging branches make moving a big rig or a tall rig challenging. Others frenidly helpful staff.
Used to camp here regularly years ago. Sure not what it used to be. Used to be families with respectable children. Respectful of the rules, and respectful of others. We paid $44 a night x 2 nights for full hook up. We didn't even have enough power to run a tv. We paid $6 for 2 days of using our ac. Couldn't even run a desk size fan. Thank God the fridge and stove were on propane. The rule is 12 and under parent at pool. Yea 10 kids there and I was the adult watching my 2 grandchildren. Not only were they unattended they were breaking every pool ruleand endangering others. Let's talk the playground next door. No rules about parents present. Sooo you have boys kicking, swearing, grabbing and yanking children. One oversized one should have been charged withat least 6 counts of assault. Al
We came to this campground on our way back from Old Orchard Beach, we were making our trip back home a little less longer by camping along the way and this was a childhood campground my wife stayed at a few times with her parents, so we booked it.||At an initial glance the campground needs some TLC. The pool deck could be a little more inviting with some lounge chairs and could also be cleaned up. It is a pool surrounded by pavement. The basketball court could be leveled and a little bigger. The kids playground could be weeded and updated a bit, maybe a bit more shrubs added or a fence around it. Internet is available but disconnects quite a bit so it isn't reliable to use. My wife on check-in noted a sign that indicated it was recommended to put your water heater and fridge on propane so
First night was great. Second night my brother in laws 13 year old King Charles got let out of the camper by one of the kids a neighbor seasonal camper brought it back and flipped out. Then later that night a staff member came and come undone hollering “whose dogs have been on my play ground” etc explaining the rules of the campground which were abiding by outside of this one incident and then he says that all the vehicles better be registered threatening us (they were) Shockingly nasty! (We have a couple that had to bring separate vehicles because one had cancer treatments in PI and the other had treatment in Bangor . ) Next day staff came and flipped out saying the vehicles had to be moved someone was waiting to get in to the neighboring cabin that had been vacant . Again no problem we
Very nice campground, peaceful and relaxing fall atmosphere.
