Kaskaskia River Camping & RV Park

Very quiet place to sleep. We felt safe and we felt our camper was safe while being gone all day too. Our only issue is that there was zero communication from the listed email address. There is a huge red wasp nest inside our site’s electrical box. My husband was stung no less than five times on his left leg all below the knee. He wound up needing medical intervention. If the grounds keepers would just check the boxes before a guest arrives, this would not have happened. Husband will be fine! But it’s a simple solution. Check the boxes to be sure the power is working and also to see if there are wasps to kill. There were actually dozens of wasps, the nest isn’t newly established.

Nice relaxing place to Stay. I would definitely recommend this place especially if you are a boater or a fisherman or someone that just wants to sit next to the river and relax. Some sites might be a little tight for bigger rigs. I'm pulling a 35 ft fifth wheel with a F350 crew cab, 8 foot bed. I fit just fine! April 12, 2024

Nice RV campground. The tent or rustic campsites were not close to flat. The bock house was very far away. We told the host that it wasn’t suitable for us. She said we could stay on one of the trailer sites. There were quite a few.

Level gravel back in sites, full hookups 50 amp need adapter for 30 amp. Gavel sites are narrow so your steps put you in the mud if it’s raining like it is now. But it is right on the river. Large pavilion, bathrooms are a toilet and a sink

This small town camping experience was amazing! Picturesque views of the Kaskaskia River! Brand new pavilion with new picnic tables, new on-site bathrooms, fresh rock, newly planted trees, FULL hook up, and 50 amp service! It was an amazing weekend! Take a half mile walk on the levee and don't forget your camera! On the other side of the levee is the town park for the kids with baseball diamonds, a basketball court, swings, sandbox, slides, and much more! Go eat at the Bullpen, Village Pizza, and Machete's. They ALL have amazing food! Dollar General is also in the town. Plan your next camping trip here!
