We came Saturday morning and found a spot for our 20 foot trailer. But by the end of the day all spots were taken. Only one loop is open in February. Toilets are clean. Used our cell phone booster in the car to get internet and pay for the site. A lot of people in the tents, and spots are not big enough for big rig. Walking on the beach was fun.
I say this is close to the best campground I have stayed at. ||The walk from the campground to the beach is under 1 minute, which is amazing in my opinion. I have to agree with other reviewers the sites are so varied that it almost seems like you have to know which one to get to get the best one. ||We got a really good one that was on a corner and all 3 sides behind us were separated from others by foliage. ||||The bathrooms were cleaned, and weren't terrible. One interesting thing I found though, is that there were no showers. ||||Overall good experience.
Location is unbeatable. You get direct, proximal access to popular destinations in Washington. Its close to iconic and popular beaches. Kalaloch Beach is situated right under the campground. A few miles north lies the Tree of Life (beach 4) and Ruby Beach, which is notable for its red-colored sand. If you don’t mind a longer drive head to Hoh and Quinault Rainforests. Both are extremely popular destinations within Olympic NP. Quinault rainforest is home to recordbreaking trees like the World’s Largest Sitka Spruce, and in the same general area sits the Lake Quinault Lodge. Watch out for high winds sometimes. Highly recommend.
We got very lucky with our site, driving through the loops we saw some sites that were incredibly small. The location is unbeatable, youre right in this jungle under the canopy of these huge trees and moss. But then you can walk right out of the campground onto a breathtaking beach and watch the sunset. Lovely campground with nice bathrooms, will visit again.
We got VERY lucky to have the best site at the campground (in my opinion). We had the perfect ocean view and a lot of privacy. We came to the peninsula to explore, but ended up loving this campground so much that we stayed here day and night for our whole trip. Clean bathrooms despite the gov shutdown, which we were extremely grateful for. Beach access was great too!
