John Butler House Bed & Breakfast

Had a wonderful weekend at the John Butler B&B. Cozy house in a safe area. Quite and peaceful. All the staff we met at the restaurants were friendly. Everything was clean and as described. We definitely are adding this to our list of places to return to.

The house was clean and comfortable. The beds were firm enough to sleep on. Sometimes a squishy bed will ruin your day. ||We were told upon checking in that the restaurant, where breakfast usually would be, would be closed and we'd have continental breakfast in the fridge. 2 bagels, cream cheese, and fruit and Danishes and muffins were provided. No protein. There was a coffee makes and coffee, tea, and packets of sweetener, though only sugar and Equal. Small shelf-stable creamers were there. If we had known the restaurant would not serve breakfast, we might have passed on staying here.||We were given the door code for our stay, and it worked when we checked in at about 5:30PM. Third time in two years staying overnight here , love the overall home feeling, quiet and very clean , comfortable, safe environment. I cannot imagine a negative review especially one that claimed ( bugs) in kitchen and bathroom; that cannot be true.

This was the most dissappointing place I have stayed in a long time. When we arrived, there was no one there and an illegible sign to say if we are out, ring this number whihc I coudnt read. If other guests hadnt arrived, we would have been stuck.|| ||Turned out we had to go across a golf course to a clubhouse with no reception area to wait for a busy waitress to give us our keys. We found our room and that in 2024, we were sharing a barhroom with occupants of another room. Unbelieavable. The sink in the barhroom required one to grope underneath to release the sink drainage mechanism. ||||The worst thing was that as a B&B, breakfast was not in the house, but across in the golf club. We had $10 dollar vouchers for breakfast, but coffee and a breakfast exceeeded that immediately. What a cod!

Our extended family of 8 were in town for a family reunion and rented the entire house. We all had our own rooms, bathrooms and plenty of space to spread out. No cooking other than a microwave/toaster is allowed, but breakfast vouchers from the Rock Run Inn are provided. We were always on the go, so often we used them for takeout to eat at the house. The restaurant was great and very accomodating to us. The back deck was nice to sit and watch fireflies and deer in the evening and sip coffee in the morning. Great front porch too.||Because there's no person on site at all times to manage as a typical B&B, I don't know if I'd rent a single room here, but it's the perfect spot for families and groups in the area for reunions, etc.. ||I stayed here 20 yrs ago and it's been updated with wa
