Jim Sunset Motel

We were looking for a clean, comfortable, affordable place to stay while traveling from Illinois to NY. This was perfect! Just a few minutes off the highway, rooms were spotless, AC worked well, bed was comfortable, lots of tv channels, nothing to complain about. We booked ahead and it was only $94 w tax. Dog friendly and lots of land to walk our dog after a long car ride. Staff was available via a quick phone call when we needed them. We will definitely stay here again the next time we’re making this trip.

I see a lot of good reviews, wish our visit was as comfortable, a/c was cool but not cold, we had a group of fishermen next door who took our chairs, smoked cigarettes and pot directly in front of window, swearing and loud until dark, then were up at 4 AM to go fishing. Very uncomfortable night, no ice is available I guess so fisherman won't fill their coolers, had to go to dollar general for a bag of ice just for our drinks. Brian was was very nice but could'nt help us but my wife was wondering why he could'nt put us further away from the noisy boys, most rooms were available. We paid over $90, we paid less at a Comfort inn & suites eariler.

What an awesome place, but you have to love quaint little motels. Very comfortable bed, super pillows. Loved it. Brian was on the ball.

The room was quite dusty and obviously hadn't been dusted for a while. The pillows were as flat as a pancake and had yellow stains on them. They definitely need replacing. There was only 2 pillows on the queen bed. The pillow protectors were in need a good wash. | We were the only guests on site and no one was in the office. One positive was it was very quiet.| Very basic facilities. In today's world of technology it would have been good to have a usb point. Most electronic devices only come with usb cords. |The place needs updating.|I wouldn't recommend this place.

Stayed one night while traveling. Not fancy but clean. Flooring appears to be newer, bathroom updated. Beds a bit older but comfortable. Room was very quite. Dog friendly and there is a large field out back that we could run our dog before hitting the road again (not fenced). Great value.
