James Matthews Guest House

This was my first experience with a Airbnb. I have to say that I am glad that I choose to stay here. Much better than a hotel. The hosts Dan and Molly were so hospitable. It was a honor to stay there. Neighborhood was very quiet. Beds were fantastic and you could get a good nights rest. Plus they have snacks for the guests. They are very helpful when it comes to answering questions.

Molly and Dan are great hosts and I especially love the furry hosts as well. They are the new owners and have made a lot of changes on the property. My room had a lock on it and if I had time I would have taken advantage of their breakfast bar and teas. They also mentioned that they were going to try and use the large room downstairs for yoga and other events. I can't wait to see what they do and catch up next time I'm in town! Oh also has lots of street parking right out front and I could see my car from the bedroom window =D

James Mathews Guest House is a beautiful property in a quiet section of the Germantown neighborhood of Philly. The hosts are wonderful, kind people, and there are always plenty of snacks and coffee available! A very comfortable place to rest at the end of the day after site-seeing in the city. ♥️

Dan and Molly are so welcoming and incredibly hospitable! We loved staying here. Everything was clean, the beds were comfy and it felt like home away from home. I would recommend anyone to stay here. It’s a peaceful place full of history and very close to all the historical sites in Philly! We were blessed with some delicious home made cookies!!!! Thanks Dan and Molly!!!

If you’re visiting Philadelphia or looking for an urban oasis getaway the James Mathews house is the perfect stay. The relaxing and historic home is equipped with cozy beds, friendly cats, a hot tub, and the most accommodating hosts. Also perfect for a run in Wissahickon or a group retreat! Not to mention the breakfast is delicious with fresh baked bread and coffee.
