Island Oaks RV Resort

First time camping at an RV Resort. The Pros - They had tons of spots to choose from and I love that they are categorized to suit everyone's needs. There were plenty of amenities such the pool, hot tub, pickleball court, playgrounds, a restaurant/bar, fishing, swimming, sun tanning, bath houses, laundry areas and so much more. Having a personal dog pen attached to my campsite was great and my dog loved the dog park! We especially enjoyed the "General Store" which sold a healthy mix of grocery, liquor, souvenir and gift shop merchandise. The Cons - There was virtually no privacy between camp sites and they are very close together. Not a lot of trees or shrubbery to separate you and the ones that do have that are taken up by the long-term snowbirds. So it's less like camping and more like

This was our first time at Island Oaks, and it was fabulous!! The staff was amazingly professional, kind and helpful. The resort was extremely well kept and very clean. Tons of activities and things to do almost every day we were there. Sites were fantastic and the food at the restaurant was delicious!! We can't wait to go back!! Only two suggestions I would have - if the park can figure out a way to block more of the highway sound (more landscaping, more fountains, etc), it was very loud. The other would be - revamp the arcade and either make it a stand-alone building somewhere other than the bar, or just update the games available.

It seems out in the middle of nowhere unless you're traveling by I-10, but it's worth the trip here if you're from the surrounding areas. We came in December initially, so we couldn't utilize their amenities to the fullest, but they have a ton of them! From karaoke, to basketball, a full volleyball court (we enjoyed a best of 3 match), cornhole, mini golf, playground, a massive swimming pond, pool, and hot tub.... we were able to enjoy nearly all of it during the florida "off season". The cabins were adorable, stocked with everything we needed, and the beds were comfortable. The general store has allll kinds of great items you can use out there as well. Beautiful resort with lots of activities and water amenities for a summer stay. We stayed TWICE during our snowbird trip. Largest dog park we have seen. Friendly staff. Reasonably priced as resorts go. Some traffic noise from I-10 but convenient to get on /off interstate. Will definitely be back next year.

I'm not the one to leave written reviews, but this deserves a great one..The staff it's self gets 10 out of 5 stars! Very welcoming and courteous. The grounds are well maintained, as are the restrooms/shower/laundry houses on site. There is a lot of activities for the family.. miniature golf, tennis, basketball, paddle boats, and more... Even live music on one of our nights there... I've stayed in several camp grounds over the years and this place definitely deserves to be refurrd to as a resort for sure!! Absolutely no negative feedback to report. Our whole family is looking forward to our next stay in the very near future. I can't say enough good things about this place and is probably the best experience camping we have had, hands down!! And I speak for all of us involved..
