Island Inn & Suites, an Ascend Collection Hotel

The location is fantastic. The reception was polite and helpful. The room was clean but had clearly seen better days. The dresser was in bad shape, as was the lampshade of the bedside table lamp- it was being held together with tape. The TV was tiny for the room. The other thing was that we could clearly hear the televisions of our neighbors. It didn't seem like their volume was turned up that high but that the walls were thin.

If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to sleep inside an early 2000s hotel that gave up on life, this is your chance. The couch had stains that could probably tell stories you don’t want your kids to hear, the room smelled like “vintage basement in the french blue cheese factory,” and just looking at the carpet could give you tetanus. The window didn’t close (great for ventilation, terrible for bug prevention), and the balcony door lock was entirely decorative. The staff had the warm charm of TSA agents on a double shift during the government shutdown. On the plus side, the location and the views were great.

The Inn was spacious with antique furniture. We had a beautiful view of the beach from the balcony attached to the room. Everything was clean with lots of towels. |The king bed slept well.|The restaurant next door served good food!|I recommend a few upgrades for the paint and cracks in the bathroom.|One problem... ants visited our room the next morning. We did alert the front desk. The comment, they are back again.

Beautiful view, good room but my issue is the hotel needs an update. The TVs SUCK!! The quality sucks. You can stream anything which would be fine if you actually got channels. Instead, I watched the same Flinnstones episode over and over.

I’ve stayed at Island Inn multiple times! We love it here! It’s on the water and has a pier you can fish from! Kacey at the front desk was so sweet and helpful! We will definitely keep coming back!
