You will share your stay with Jerry, Rocky the goat, Pearl the dog, a couple of dozen wild horses, a herd of antelope and the most gorgeous, temperate days and cool nights. If you're looking for an experience that's considerably off the path and welcome genuine, personable interactions with others, then this special retreat may be for you. Alternately, if your focus is how much you can fill your instagram feed, then you may want to stick to the main road and sate your media fix on the many vista. The hour+ drive to ranch on a dirt road drive is transformational, as you strip away cell phone service and are applied with a fine layer of dust.||||The highlight of the stay was spending time with Jerry and Robin. We recently completed a 3 night stay at the Ike’s Canyon Ranch. As a group of researchers who had worked in Nevada since the 1960s this was an opportunity to celebrate and remember adventures in Nevada. Whether you are seeking adventure, solitude, wildlife or stunning natural beauty we can think of no better venue than Ike’s Canyon Ranch. Jerry and Robin are exceptional hosts who enhanced every aspect of our visit. Without hesitation Ike’s Canyon Ranch gets our highest recommendation.

We like to find the most off the beaten path places possible to visit, away from the crowds, and Jerry's ranch definitely fit the bill.||||From the reviews I had an idea that this place would be amazing but it exceeded all expectations. Right away they welcome us into their home and we felt like we were staying with old friends, and enjoyed a hot tub under the stars, cards in the saloon together, and just overall great company. The place is definitely out in the middle of the desert and takes some time to get to, but it was totally worth it. We went on what we deemed the "Death March" off trail hike through mountains that had likely not been traversed by another human in decades.||||Tip: For a fun night in the saloon, ask Jerry to play a game of cards!

What an incredible treat! We just spent 3 days with 6 friends and our hosts Jerry and Robin at their mountain retreat in the high desert of central Nevada. A truly special and memorable experience featuring spectacular sunrises and sunsets and vast landscapes, in an area rich in geological and archaeological history in addition to wild horses, antelope, wild flowers, and quaking Aspens. You can choose solitude or — as you wish — hearing engaging stories about the area from Jerry and reflections from Robin about what animates her short story writing. We can’t wait to return!
