Hyatt Place Saratoga/Malta

We had a great stay here for about two weeks in January, 2026 while waiting to close on our new home in Vermont. The staff here is great. Everyone was friendly and helpful, especially Mary Ann at the front desk in the mornings, and Jake, the building engineer. The ladies who serve the excellent free breakfast were also just as nice as they could be. The rooms are very stylish and attractive -- well designed and with beautiful finishes, especially the bathroom. There's an indoor pool and hot tub/spa, and a a nice exercise room. This is also a great location with lots of good restaurant and bar choices nearby. The location was very convenient. It was at a quiet place but near a grocery and all the touristy places. The breakfast was simple but it was enough to start the day. The staff were also accommodating. Our first room smelled like someone smoked cigarette, probably from the previous guest, and we requested for a change of room. The one on reception, Abigail, was very quick with our request. The room we had was also big enough for 4 adults, and complete with their amenities. Overall, we had an excellent stay at this hotel.

We’d been on a whirlwind 2 month trip around the northeastern USA, and stayed at various hotels, at various $$, but have to say, for the money, this hotel was really disappointing. The two reception staff we encountered over the first two days appeared disengaged and uninterested in both their jobs and the guests, which made for an unwelcoming first impression. The assistant manager, however, was helpful and professional when we decided to shorten our stay. We needed nine nights of accommodation just before Christmas and thought we’d splurge by choosing this hotel based on the Hyatt name and positive reviews, but the room (Double Queen Room with sofa bed on a high floor at USD $172 per night) was too small to comfortably accommodate three adults for that length of time. Leanne checked us in, tended bar for us, took our food orders, cooked our food, served our food and bused our table. She did EVERYTHING and she did it all with kindness and a warm smile and friendly chat. She made us feel welcome and happy to be there instead of having to go right back out for our dinner.||The breakfast was very good, the food was fresh and delicious, excellent quality, just enough variety, nicely presented and attended to by a kind person.||We loved the room, the layout and the size. Everything about it was very well thought out and it was much nicer and more comfortable than many places we've paid a lot more for. Stayed overnight on a drive north from NYC. Great rooms with solid square footage and couch, counters, fridge, coffee. I was impressed given my rate. I will say the breakfast was tasty but the common are was very messy and dirty tables and dishes were in every direction. Seems the staff are overworked or not organized.
