Hyatt Place Fair Lawn/Paramus

We have stayed here for years for holidays and visits to family. They do a wonderful job and the hotel is excellent. It is also a great place to stay if you are going to go into New York City for the day. We take the local bus and yes, it takes an hour to use the bus, but it is part of the fun of people watching or reading my kindle while I am riding. It saves a great deal of stress!

This review is long overdue. We stayed here for five months and have never been more impressed with a hotel, locally or internationally. Every team member — the entire front desk team, housekeeping (Elizabeth!), the entire kitchen staff, maintenance, and management (Andrea!) — was exceptional. We were treated like family, not just guests. Outstanding services, and we will absolutely return whenever we’re in the area. Thank you guys for taking great care of us!

Positive: Location Negative: The pull out sofa was in really rough condition. First room is was broken, room they moved us too the mattress was extremely uncomfortable. Double bed mattresses were also not in great shape and the bed frames were very noisy any time someone moved.

Fair Lawn February 14 2026: Today we arrived to the hotel and we were disappointed by a significant issue that was not disclosed in advance. Before booking, we specifically asked about the pool because it was an important factor in choosing this property. At no point were we informed that the pool has been closed since September. We only found out after arriving that the pool was unavailable. Had we known beforehand, we would have booked elsewhere. A major advertised amenity being closed long-term should be clearly communicated to guests prior to arrival. I hope the hotel improves communication with future guests regarding unavailable amenities.

I booked a king size bed. Zupon check in? I was told only queen size beds were available. I continued with the booking and when arriving to the room, I was met with FULL SIZE BEDS. They then offered me 4000 in Hyatt points, that was supposed to be visible within 24. Hours and I still haven’t received. I called back 2 days later and was out on hold twice and never attended. The staff member that helped me name was Musti. Unacceptable.
