Huntington House

If you know what to expect and are prepared it's a place to sleep that's free. It's a cross between an old YMCA and a army barracks. It's old and seen better days. No staff on weekends or after working hours. Just be prepared to bring everything with you. They don't provide anything - not even shower soap. If your coming in by shuttle there's no place close for food or supplies so prepare accordingly. They do have a kitchen you can cook in if you bring all food stuffs necessary and feel up to it . The rooms are decently clean and towels for showers are provided . The staff mostly stay in the office and aren't expected to offer any assistance. Off hours check in at hospital with security for a key. If an extended stay staff offer meals on wheels (🤢🤮)

Bed a little short ( I'm 6'). Other than that, pleasant stay, staff helpful.

The room was clean and comfortable. There are full kitchen facilities that are shared, but we had to ourselves. We were so thankful to have such a nice place to stay while my husband was being treated .

Our room was spotless. Very comfortable beds , nice size bathroom. T.V. in each room plus a larger one in common area. Common kitchen has some dishes and pots and pans. Missing measuring spoons and measuring cups. Very well kept. Washer and dryer avaible for no charge. Wonderful benefit for veterans and spouses when needing medical at the VA.

Thank you Jamaica plains Ma for putting us up and hosting us in the Huntington house. A terrific place for veterans coming out of town 😁 the room was spotless when we got here and they make and keep it comfortable and safe. God's blessings on the whole VA staff.❤️
