Great place to stay! Fishing is right down the hill! Camping spots are spaced nicely. Water and Vault Toilets No electricity.. just generator noise (quiets down at night)
It is no longer free. $16.91/night. Very secluded and beautiful. Historical location!
Our family favorite and still first come so not dealing with empty sites that you can't use because someone reserved them in May and didn't show up.
We didn't go all the way to the grounds, but stopped at the Hugh Glass Memorial. The drive is like a roller coaster on a one-track gravel road; it's beautiful.
Didn't stay, just visited. Free camping. Water. Not directly on the lake, but on a bluff above it. There is a road down to a boat launch/pier.
