One of the best paddles for beginners and adventure seekers. A gorgeous cypress swamp. Put in and turn left up the creek. No boats. However, if you choose to go toward the river, be mindful of boats returning from Brothers River.
Boat Ramp is currently being improved, but is still in great shape. Quick floodplain wilderness access.
New ramp much better than the dirt one before. No facilities there as of Nov 2024
Aside from the bugs, it was nice enough. I wasn't prepared to be eaten alive though. I was going to boondock there for one night but just couldn't deal with all the bugs and I had to bug-out myself.
Great fishing. A lot of wildlife to see. A great place to relax and unwind from the daily stresses of life.
