Been to Hotel Wapello about 6 times. First few were mid 60s. John Jaeger was owner. Louie was manager. Rooms $6. Lobby had a turn of the Century beautiful touch. Old wooden phone booth with a light and fan. Hunted at Lake Odessa, so rolling out of the Hotel with 8 others at 3 a.m. may have surprised a few other guests. Last time was 2001. 2 beautiful young ladies were in the Lobby. Phone booth was gone. But I recommend. New owners were very accommodating.
My husband and I had a wonderful time last year, I am booking with them again on our trip this year to visit family.
