Had an amazing stay during a snowy winter weekend. Loved the well-curated art decorating all the rooms, had a great breakfast, and awesome after-dinner drinks. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the area!
We spent Christmas Eve and Christmas night at Hotel Tivoli, located in the charming village of Tivoli, NY (population 900). The hotel was bought and renovated by the artists Brice and Helen Marden some years ago, and their influence is everywhere, from design and color choices to original artwork by them and other artists, including in guest rooms. ||Our room was on the third floor (the top floor). The bed was extremely comfortable, and the bathroom was well appointed and immaculate. ||This is a small hotel that is well managed. Every detail is carefully curated. The manager, Helene, greeted us warmly and attended to our every need. Breakfast was delicious. ||This is more than a boutique hotel. It’s an experience. We’ll be back.
My wife and I spent a mid-week 3 days here in October 2025 and we had an absolutely wonderful time. The place could well be an art museum for one, as it is full of high end art. The amenities are great, in a funky sort of way. Rooms are spotless and well appointed and there is a Nespresso machine available for "any time" coffee plus an honor system fridge stocked with soft drinks, wine, and beer. Service is great, and the in-house restaurant/bar, though not open every day, is a fun place to have a meal or drink. In addition, the area is replete with art. All in all, highly recommended...
Amazing hotel experience in an eclectic Artsy NY village. Very unexpected. We went to Tivoli to see a dancer we know perform in a show. Booked Hotel Tivoli because it was near the performing arts center without knowing anything about it. To our delight, this hotel boasts art from famous artists (It is owned by a famous artist. Look it up, you'll be thrilled) and everything in it (furnishings, lighting) is a work of art. The staff is friendly, helpful and VERY customer focused. Tracey, Helene and Suzie took care of us. They will do anything within reason to accommodate special requests and make your stay enjoyable and memorable. When you stay there, you MUST try their restaurant. The food is outstanding as is the service. Can't wait to go back. There is a lot to do in this area.
When you do get the hot water, don’t shower too long. We didn’t see the disclaimer in the welcome information sheet (a stand in for the staff that went home at 4:00pm) until it was almost too late! The ultra sensitive fire alarms can go off, “shower accordingly.” We checked in early because we got a text saying that they leave at 4:00. We hurried there, and they were surprised we wanted an early check in. We wanted an actual check in, not just a code and a “good luck.” Mixed signals from the start. We decided not to stay the second night. After the salty introduction and lack of amenities you would expect at this price point, we decided we needed to go somewhere we could have a decent nights rest.
