Hotel Riu Plaza Miami Beach

We accidentally booked this hotel for March 24–25 instead of February 24–25 through Expedia. When we arrived and realized the mistake, we spoke with the front desk hoping they could help us correct the dates. Instead, we were asked to wait for over an hour, only to be told they could give us a room for $450 for the night, and that we should “figure the rest out with Expedia.” This was extremely disappointing, especially when Expedia was showing a special rate of $389 for the same hotel at that very moment. While standing there, we called Expedia and they tried multiple times to contact the property, but the hotel kept responding that they were “sorting it out” without actually resolving anything. We stayed for two weeks and the location is very good. There is a subway nearby and several restaurants around where you can have breakfast or lunch easily. The rooms are very standard, nothing out of the ordinary. When we were there, the pool was quite full and there were many people, but overall it was fine. They provide towels so you can cross over to the beach and spend time there comfortably. The beaches are clean and very beautiful. Obviously, you can’t drink alcohol on the beach, so sometimes we would go back to the hotel to have drinks there. Overall, it’s a decent hotel—nothing luxurious, but good enough. The rooms are quite simple, though.

For the hotel to cost as much as it does, they can at least provide microwaves in the rooms or at least help the customers warm up food some how. I called the front desk & the guy told me the bar area could help lol. They can ONLY warm up baby food! The female says that she'll get in trouble if she uses it for anything else because of the cameras. The staff that I did interact with was very helpful & friendly. Some guests are rude and obviously have "other" issues that the hotel cannot do anything about! #Morals! Parking should be free with your stay or at least a decent price. The food is decent. If you're a pork lover than you won't have a problem. If not, there's fruits, bread & veggies lol and some times chicken patties for breakfast. I cannot say that I would stay there again but the

Overall, everything was very good and we enjoyed our stay. The hotel is comfortable, clean, and well organized, and the staff were friendly and helpful.||The only thing missing is a service for guests with late flights. If you check out but leave the hotel later, there is no option to use a room for a short time (for example, 30 minutes) to take a shower and change clothes before departure. Instead, you need to use the pool shower and change in the restroom.||Aside from this small inconvenience, the stay was very pleasant and I would still recommend the hotel.

Positive: The location was good. Negative: The ac wouldn't shut off or reach the temp we selected. It just kept getting colder. We were supposed to be on a quiet floor however the first day/night we had kids screaming down the corridor and next door. Quiet floors shouldn't have screaming kids
