Hotel Excelsior - Suites on Water Street

Such a perfect stay on Water St! It was our second time staying here (previously stayed in the Smithtown suite, this time St. Albans) and it was so lovely! Rooms are truly beautiful and so well themed to Excelsior. So close to so many restaurants and shops, & Tyler is so kind and makes sure you have everything you need for a 10/10 stay. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a place in Excelsior/Minnetonka!

we celebrated my partner’s birthday here and was lovely. the room is large bright and beautiful. lovely bathroom. was fun to just walk out of door and have so many restaurants and activities right there. wonderful dinner at Vagabondo across the street||only suggestion is kitchen should be better equipped. there are no towels to clean up with and few dishes. as we were only there for one night was not an issue but if we were cooking we would have been looking for these amenities

Hotel Excelsior is really more like a VRBO than a hotel, so there is no common area, etc. We stayed in the Smithtown Bay room which is very nice. It's like a tiny studio apartment so you can cook there (Kowalski's is a couple blocks walk) if you want. The room looks great, however the bed is very firm so you should beware if that is not comfortable to you. Being on the main street in Excelsior is nice, but at night there is a bit of noise from outside. Also it is bright all night from street lights and Christmas tree lights, and the shades really don't darken at all. Overall a good experience, but a few things you should know if you are a light sleeper - bring white noise and a sleep mask.

Excellent hotel choice when staying in Excelsior / Lake Minnetonka. Suites are spacious and comfortable for family of 4. Location is amazing, right on Lake street in the middle of all the cool shops and restaurants. They have the best coffee shop in the lobby. We'll definitely stay there again when visiting our MN family.

When I booked and images looked really good. Arrival was easy and the team at the coffee shop guided me to the room upstairs. On entering the room was light, open and had a good feel. Sadly this is where it ended. To list the issues so other guests can decide if I am being difficult: 1. Wifi super slow (Coffee shop downstairs was much better), 2. Toilet handle came off and I had to lift the back of the cistern off and flush it manually, 3. The hand soap dispenser was empty, 4. No option other than liquid soap but as I mentioned this was empty, 5. No milk/cream for the coffee, 6. No coffee/teacups and had to use a cereal bowl to make a cup of coffee. 7. I hardly needed it but the crockery/cutlery section seemed super light. these are all very fixable but it definitely needs the owner to tak
